Hello, I am curious about the release schedule for 4.0 and its
beta's. I am very eager to try 4.0 out.  I am also interested in
helping out a bit... Im not much of a programmer, but am willing to
help somehow..

thanks

Ben and Sebastian have both been looking at the datamodel for the core.  I intend to focus short-term on testing current PG 7.1 pre-beta  sources with an eye to building a stable snapshot we can share (as the latest CVS sources frequently break in minor ways on a day-to-day basis), and then to start looking at the datamodel.

Personally I'd like us to have a beta-quality port of the core not long after PG 7.1 goes beta (say in a month maybe?) and a full port of  everything by the time PG 7.1 is released early next year.

It would be nice to have a more aggressive schedule but at the moment I don't see it happening.

PG 7.1beta1 is now out, it seems.  I'm downloading it as I type.
I'd love to see OpenACS 4.0, having just done a two day ACS4 bootcamp.

Anyway, now it is available, what is the current OpenACS 4.0 porting
status, and what can those outside the core OpenACS team do to help?
