Here's a couple more notes:

1.  I'm running my browser on a Redhat 7.0 box.

2.  It works fine on Netscape.

3.  I just tried a simple html page, and it gave me the same error:
    <html>
    <body>
        <p />Hi.
    </body>
    </html>
