I had added a few ns_log notices in the sweep procedure of bulkmail and reloaded the file and put it under watch. The error log showed that the file got reloaded but when I executed the sweep proc it showed me the same messages that existed before reloading. Even a ns_log notice added out of the scope of the procs executed while reloading.

Can somebody help me understand what is happenning there?

Are you talking about executing as scheduled procedure? In that case reloading won't work as far as I know, it will use the old version for an unknown period of time. Restart the server to be sure.

Thanks for replying Tilmann. It looks like your explanation does the trick. I restarted the server and voila the proc gives me the notices.
