Forum OpenACS Q&A: Response to Future directions for OpenACS

Having developed professionally with ColdFusion, for fun with OpenACS/tcl, and working now in Java, I have to scratch my head and wonder why on earth people would want to move from [any scripting language*] to Java for web development purposes.  It is just SO much more aggravating, particularly on the JDBC side.  I miss set_variables_after_query. :(

* Okay, I can see why you would want to move from to Java if your scripts were in Perl. :)
