A quick note as there clearly seems to be a lot of worrying going on. Java is an interesting platform. Apache 2.0 may eventually be an interesting platform. To me, OpenACS/AOLserver is still very much the way to go in terms of solid enterprise-level web development. I remain fully committed to that platform for the foreseeable future, and I know there are enough members of the OpenACS community out there to keep it a very strong platform for quite a while (not to mention legacy customers).

No, I do *not* recommend running mod_aolserver, except for those who cannot fathom doing away with Apache. If they like mod_aolserver/OpenACS, then maybe they can be convinced to see how much faster and better it is on AOLserver.

As for the state of the AOLserver community, it is, IMHO, quite sad. I agree wholeheartedly with the spirit of Don's message to Kriston, and believe that the AOLserver community must be revived ASAP to ensure a solid future for the software.
