"ACS 4 Java is a dead end, because it is just an easy to use port to Java, which maintains the look and feel of the TCL Version. Next to none of the enhancements that Java offers seem to have been used."
This information is from one of my students at university as I did not check it out myself. I can't imagine on the other hand, that AD is going to continue with this approach when building the next version (ACS 5.0) => Dead end, as all modules will need to have rewritten again.
