AFAIK the original Wiki is the Tcl'ers Wiki (in Tcl), so it shouldn't be hard to put it on OpenACS.
It's a system that fits well into some uses, but I don't know how would we use it for our documentation.
If somebody would come and edit the documentation that I put up, how would I know that it has been changed? And what has been changed? I still need to check for accuracy. It would be just as easy to file a bug report or feature improvement at the SDM, or even submit a patch.
If someone wants to write a new piece of documentation to contribute, Emacs or vim are much more comfortable than a textarea.
