Forum OpenACS Development: Thanks for coming to the meeting

Just wanted to thank everybody that swung by the meeting last night.
I thought it was a very nice gathering where people could swear at
Ben - uh, I mean - thank Ben for all the wonderful work he's done and
confirm that he was over his dreadful cold.

Seriously, though, Ben gave a presentation of the OpenACS installer
that was beautiful. Up and ready in no time flat. It's clear that he
has put a lot of effort and thought into the system and we will have
the best damn Open Source Web toolkit on the Internet in very short
time.

It was also nice to just get a chance to meet and chat with people
using OpenACS or ACS, many of were familiar from the bboards but now
proved they were human. I would really like to thank Josh Hecht of
OpenForce for helping to organize and publicize the event, the first
of many, hopefully.

Hope everything is going well out in OpenACS land. And never fear -
the port is near.

Yes, thanks for dropping by this event. Hopefully our next big
event will be around the launch of 4.x!

It's important to note that while I demoed the OpenACS 4.x
installation, I am by no means the only (nor the main) person
behind this effort. Don Baccus has done a huge amount of work
(not to mention coordination) on the design and port so far, as
has Dan Wickstrom. Jon Griffin and Steve Woodcock also
contributed to this core piece, and we expect this list of
volunteers to grow significantly in the next few days with the
now-working query dispatcher and APM.

The credit for OpenACS 4.x will, as always, belong to the
community-at-large.

yesyesyesyes. I'm sorry that I didn't mention that community is doing a great job.

Don, Jon, Kapil, Steve and everyone else is kicking ass. And it's looking good.
