Forum OpenACS Q&A: ns_uuencode kills nsd process...

Cheers,

This is what i found out after 3 hours trying to understand why the nsd process (3.3.1+ad13 with acs-kernel 4.7.2d) keeps dying no matter the request...if i comment the line which calls "ns_uuencode" everything is ok, the server is up and running...

What is going wrong? I couldn't find too much information about it, some posts about a patch that i couldn't find anywhere... If anyone knows what is going on, help is much appreciated! 😉

thnx!

There has recently been some rearranging of items in the AOLserver trackers, which is probably why the links in older posts are broken.  I suspect you are seeing the problem caused by the original version of this patch:

Feature Request: [ 474259 ] ns_uuencode patch
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=474259&group_id=3152&atid=353152

and a version which shouldn't crash the server but may have other issues is at:
