Please work with Dee on this (mailto:dekane@mit.edu).
It is on our list to fix up the interface to the file storage so that it will be easy to do the various standard configurations instead of that intimidating generic permissions interface. (Also, was it you that showed me some of that stuff in Heidelberg)
If we change the default configuration, we should make it configurable because I think people are going to want different things.
