Forum OpenACS Q&A: rh network with 6.2

I wanted to get automated uptodate from RedHat Network running on my development box.

I read the instructions on Using Red Hat Network with Red Hat Linux 6.2

But as the rpm-4.0.2-6x.i386.rpm wanted to install itself my box gave me a dependencies error. Anyone familiar with this?

error: failed dependencies:
rpm = 3.0.4 is needed by rpm-build-3.0.4-0.48
rpm = 3.0.4 is needed by rpm-devel-3.0.4-0.48

Thanks

What's wrong with EmDia? (Thanks Michael!)

Nothing is wrong with emdia. But I just stumbled over RH Network and thought that I might check it out.

I will try to get emdia running on my box. I kinda forgot about it.

Thanks

You just have to install all of the rpm-*4.0.2*rpm files at once,
or none of them.  Just like updating PG from 7.0.3 to 7.1.

If you still get problems, you may find updating RPM to the earlier RH
update of RPM, 3.0.5-9.6x, as an intermediat step, helps.  This one
was released by Red Hat on updates.redhat.com around 09 August 2000,
so apparently you have not been keeping your boxes very up to date 😊

Now I'll go check out EmDia 😊
