I read recently that Dave Bauer has produced a TCL API for the content repository. I also remember the CR example included in ACS 5.1.1 made mention of code that would become redundant once the TCL CR API was produced.

Our ACS 4/Oracle8.1.6 classic website uses custom packages that use KarlG's CR, I have twice started to convert the site to OpenACS/PostgreSQL but each time I have had to move over to other more pressing things.

Now I have been collared to do this website conversion and upgrade its a big job with 1000's of CR pages and the ACS methodology has gone cold in my head.

Since I am going to have to dive back into the code I figured it would be nice to stay at the forefront of the openACS CR libraries development.

So for a 5.1.1 developer is this TCL CR API available, and if so where from and is there any supporting documentation.

DaveB mentioned an example Wiki package with docs, it that available.

Hi Roger,

The Tcl API is part of OpenACS 5.2, so it is currently on HEAD, not available on 5.1.1 or the forthcoming 5.1.2.

I'd recommend using a dev server with HEAD, and releasing everything once 5.2 is released. I'm not sure when that is.
