I'm a little leary of moving stuff directly in the CVS repository. Does anybody else have experience with this? We could move all the stuff from contrib and the obsolete packages back. I'm marking their .info files if they are obsolete, and we no longer have a need for packages to be separated into contrib. I believe there was a TIP about this?
Not sure about obsolete packages, but for contrib I think it would make a lot of sense to put them into /packages with a maturity of 0 or 1 (if I remember the levels correctly).
