Forum .LRN Q&A: How do I get email notification of new users requiring confirmation

The translation server runs .LRN, and new users must be confirmed before they can start doing translations.  How do I get automated emails set up so that I don't have to manually keep checking http://translate.openacs.org/dotlrn/admin/users?
in the kernel parameters put yourself as the admin of the site ...
I changed the main subsite parameter NewRegistrationEmailAddress, but didn't get a test email (ie, a notification email generated when I signed up with a test account).
Next, I added myself to the alias that's already in use for the kernel parameters AdminOwner,  HostAdministrator, and SystemOwner, and didn't get a test email.
I'm starting to think that it doesn't actually send an admin email.
Are you sure the site is configured to send mail at all? It could have been set up to log all e-mails for testing and then not switched back to sending them.  It's an easy mistake to make (why do you think it occurred to me? :).
