- 5.1.3 release planning. Andrew has one change for core related to .LRN. Joel will plan to start the release Friday.
- oacs-5-2 branch.
The assessment package runs with .LRN 2.1.0, which is built on OpenACS 5.1.x. Assessment requires the new TCL CR API, which is in HEAD. Adding this API to OpenACS Core 5.1.x would violate the rule that dot releases are only for bug fixes. Not adding it would delay release of assessment until OpenACS 5.2 AND .LRN 2.2 are released, which is likely to be three to six months or more.
After some discussion, consensus was reached that DaveB will add these functions to oacs-5-1 after 5.1.3 is released. Then OpenACS Core 5.1.4 will be released. Then we will be ready for Jeff to return from vacation and merge oacs-5-1 back to HEAD, and then we can branch oacs-5-2 and begin stabilizing it. The branch should happen in Dec 2004 and the release as quickly as possible afterwards.
