Forum OpenACS Q&A: country_codes table

I'm looking for the table country_codes in ACS4 - the table that was
created by load-geo-tables in ACS3 - and I can't find it. Any help
appreciated...

You can get it for ACS Classic from the ACS Geo Tables package at http://www.arsdigita.com/acs-repository/one-versio n?version_id=1664. But since you posted here you were probably looking for it in Postgres form... AFAIK that doesn't exist. I haven't looked at it in quite a while so I'm not sure how much porting it would require, sorry.

No, that looks perfect to me. Is there a reason why this package is not part of OpenACS?

Some folks, especially Jon Griffin, feel that this package has no
reason to exist and that it's contents should be included in
acs-references (I think that's the one).  I have no strong feelings
one way or the other;  the geo tables package was created to
support the e-commerce port, and it served it's purpose at the
time.

I am (unfortunately)  not involved in the OpenACS port due to time
constraints, so I don't know what the status is of acs-references
or whether this data is being included or not.

acs-references is on Jon's plate - I just recently updated the status page to reflect this.

I will port that this weekend. It is really easy and yes it includes the country codes and more.

Of course some of the names of columns changed, but that was on purpose. Using names that are already part of the ISO standard makes much more sense and I added preliminary support for non-english versions.
