This is the CSS version. You are looking at it. What I have done is supress all the borders and colors since there wasn't any consensus on whether they are helpful or distracting.
The main benefit is that the posts in a thread are not all in a huge table, but each post is in a seperate DIV so that extra wide posts do not cause really long lines on regular posts.
