I think we'll be looking first and foremost for testers who will be willing to install the Oracle and Postgres versions of OpenACS, and to test for basic functionality and congruence between them.
It's intentionally a bit vague because I've been begging for a "testing czar" to volunteer for some time, and I think we have one. I'm into delegation, so I would expect to work with him to put together a plan that includes detailed expectations of volunteers.
In short, I guess, if you think you might want to help e-mail now, and if the strategy ends up looking like too much work or commitment, feel free to drop out later.
It will likely be less than the commitment level asked of porters, but not much less...
