Position is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, 15 miles south of Portland, Oregon.
We have an opening for a full-time intranet developer in the Portland, Oregon area. Pay will be competitive and dependent on experience.
About IBR:
Integrated Bakery Resources is a small product development company for the commercial baking industry. IBR develops recipes, packaging, and mixes for use by commercial bakeries. Many of the products you see on the grocery shelves have been developed by IBR.

About the position:
The Senior Intranet Developer works with other employees in the company to improve the effectiveness and speed with which IBR can deliver its services.
The Senior Intranet Developer will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and further developing our Intranet. They are also responsible for working with the rest of the company to implement effective processes and training to make use of the Intranet.
The Senior Intranet Developer will work on the whole chain of development: from conception to implementation to maintenance. Often, the solution to the problems will not involve code at all.
IBR uses the intranet to maintain vast amounts of company information, such as formulas, nutritional information, project and task information, and so on.
The Intranet is built on OpenACS, a web application framework (see what is OpenACS). Experience with OpenACS is helpful but not necessary.
The Senior Intranet Developer will also be responsible for some work on client websites.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good people skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related discipline. Extensive experience can compensate for a lack of degree.
- 3+ years of experience doing similar work.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience with version control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux or Unix.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Enjoy working in a small, entrepreneurial group.
- Creative thinker who enjoys interesting problems.
Preferred and Desirable:
- Experience with OpenACS or ACS.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with open source software development.
- Experience with Gnu Arch and CVS.
- Experience programming in Tcl (or another scripting language).
- Experience with Aolserver.
- Experience with Laszlo.
- Experience with Debian Linux.
We don’t expect that all candidates will have experience in all of these areas, but we do expect that the candidate is able to pick up new technologies quickly.
