Forum OpenACS Q&A: What happened to Roberto?

He hasn't posted in a month, which is unusual. And his site, including the postgresql cookbook, is down.

Well, I can vouch that he is alive and well, or at least that there is a pretty good facsimile of him hanging out on IRC. His site was working for me a couple days ago, so I'm not sure why it's down now. I know he's been busy with other commitments, but he's still got big plans for OpenACS.

I, too, have been in touch with Roberto.  He's been busy straightening out a visa fiasco caused by a clerical error at his school.  It's been a big time sink and I'm sure it will come as no surprise that the events of September 11th haven't exactly led to a streamlining of INS procedures...

My last post on September 23rd, so it hasn't been a month 😊

Don pretty much summed it up. I really regret the amount of time the INS has taken from my life. I jsut wish it would leave me alone to live my life and continue with my studies. Perhaps I should have gone to Canada to study.

I'm putting it together again, and have teamed up with Vinod to finally kick off the documentation project for OACS4. That way we can push each other and the project won't suffer if the gestapo^H^H^H^H^H^HINS decides to show its claws again. Stay tuned.

I don't know why my site was down. Perhaps while playing with the different OACS4 test servers I have running on my machine, I turned off my main site accidently, at the time you had tried.

It should be back up again.

P.S: BTW, thanks for asking 😊

Roberto!

Sorry to hear about your problems with the INS. I can relate to dealing with these departments. I recently got laid off here in Sweden, and am having to deal with the immigration office, and it has been well, let us say interesting and time consuming! and a lot of other things...

Good luck.
