From an IRC channel convo I had with Kapil, he mentioned a good way to solve the webmail problem might be to rewrite it in Python. He mentioned that much of the functionality and feature set needed (POP, SMTP, IMAP, etc) is built into the language (but don't ask me how).
Since webmail in the ACS is by all accounts a bit on the crappy side, Oracle based and written in Java, it might make sense to simply rebuild the thing, no?
