A filtering system would be cool. In addition to supporting alerts,
it might be useful for doing the equivalent of saving a search
query. (In fact, might there be some overlap in functionality
here?) It would be nice to be able to have non-programming
users define criteria for selecting content and have that content
either pop up in an alert or act as a data source for a portlet or
adp page. Is that feasible?
Along the same lines, if we develop this kind of capability we
should make sure that the UI is shared by the search package.
