Hello!
Attempting to access the CVS server with -
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@openacs.org/cvsroot login

get the following returned -
cvs login: missing hostname in CVSROOT:
:pserver:anonymous@openacs.org/cvsroot
cvs [login aborted]: Bad CVSROOT

Is this a server error or have I missed something...

You're missing the : between openacs.org and /cvsroot.

Try

cvs -d:pserver:mailto:anonymous@openacs.org:/cvsroot login

Try adding a colon (:) after the g in openacs.org.
