Does anyone knows if there is a maximum number of subsites that you
can create in your system?

I've created over 100 without any problems. I don't think there is any kind of enforced limit.

I remember someone tested this once, the thread will be here or at Ad's bboard. The problem they ran up against was parameter caching. Change one parameter and they're all flushed from memory and reloaded from the db. Some of the admin interfaces will be slugish / useless also.
