Oh, one other thing worth looking at is the
uPortal quickstart download -- 70mb (compressed!) of java goodness. You download it, it
includes the web server (tomcat), the RDBMS (HSQLDB) and the installer
(ant). When we discuss the installer we should consider just making a
big tarball that contains tcl, postgres, aolserver, and openacs.
By comparison the equivalent collection for OpenACS (tcl8.4, aolserver4 +
modules, postgres8, and *all* of OpenACS including dotLRN) would be
about 30mb (and just the binaries needed is 7mb or so).
and that can easily be trimmed down to 15 or 20mb.
