Forum OpenACS Development: Re: Apache support critical

This conversation is very related to Apache and more interesting.

The issue of running behind Apache (or IIS for that matter) is really just an integration story. If we can answer that than we're fine. I'm not sure that mod_proxy does, of course, and would very much like to hear the data that Peter has regarding scalability with such a solution.

To be just a little more revealing, the conversation I had was with the CTO of one of the major p2p service providers. This was a site that got many millions of hits per day with a very complex web architecture built around and behind Apache. Such a set up would not be unlike what sysadmins at major universities might create in order to run their very complex systems (SIS, LMS, etc)

So as far as I can tell, this discussion is all related.

Please continue. Nice to see all the old hands return to engage in some polite but passionate discourse :)
