Just a little comment - I regretfully agree with Nima that windows support would be a big boost.

It could also bring less talented developers and decrease the quality of the forums. Controversial but true - a larger user base would most likely mean that the average skill level would decrease. The average OpenACS developer is definately above the industry average in terms of skill level.

And it may not be so hard now that postgres 8 natively supports windows.

A sad fact is that building a windows specific binary installer would be far simpler than a linux one.

It seems like a no-brainer for me, but our community has limited windows developer skills.

Heck - it can't be that hard. Make the installer, get an articl or two in major developer magazines or even better - get on the cover CD. Small business intranet in a box? OpenACS has it all.

Add some API enhancement like my previous post and I think we would be very suprised at the outcome.
