Yes, it's a complete guess - and wrong. Wrong guesses of this kind expose the religious bigotry that underlies many discussion about language and software engineering. C afficionadoes have dismissed the *many* efforts to quantify improvements in code quality when proper tools are used since, oh, the late 1970s.
