I was particularly interested in the section I pasted in because we have discussed, at various points in this thread. a mythical CIO who may or may not make toolkit choices based on his developers opinion.

Here, in the interview, we have an actual president of a prominent and successful product, totally accepting the opinion of his developer over his personal (non-developer) views on PHP.

This in itself is heartening, and further strenghtens the views posted here that providing the right tools for developers is more important than being buzzword compliant.
