Forum OpenACS Q&A: Re: Will Dr. OpenACS survive? Or why I stopped worrying and learned to love the .LRN consortium?

I think a book needs to be published in order to promote OpenACS. This is especially the case if you want students to learn to develop in OpenACS. I've taught a few courses on Java, LAMP and OpenACS, and the biggest complaint from students is the lack of an OpenACS book. I don't know why students are so dependent on books when all the resources can be found online. But that must be a psychological thing, especially when it comes to exam time, when they think that they will only be quizzed on stuff within a finite set of knowledge, such as a book.

There are lots of books on Java, Perl, PHP, etc. We need a book for OpenACS.
