One issue is that often the testers have quite different opinions on how to fix something, and with no consensus nothing is resolved. I don't want to discount the previous efforts of those who truly wish to improve the usability of OpenACS. It is of course valuable and appreciated. What is necessary in addition is time and resources to take action on the feedback.

Using the evaluation techniques Michael mentioned maybe we can get some more structured actionable feedback. Ideally OpenACS would even have a set of guidelines for user interface design. I think some good results will come from the effort to clean up the design and make OpenACS themable, but there will always be more room for improvement.
