Hmmm now I see the problem!
If you want to use your enhanced project manager within .LRN it won't work cleanly.
I recommend integrating the new feature that allows any package to "stand-in" for acs-subsite and work in a similar way for grouping packages, with .LRN. This is on my list because otherwise we are going to end up with more and more .LRN specific checks for community grouping features and it has to stop :)
