lars-blogger package is already internationalized in oacs-5-1 branch (package version 2.1.2d1). i think I18n changes were not commited to other branches.

to get it from CVS:

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:mailto:anonymous@cvs.openacs.org:/cvsroot co -r oacs-5-1 lars-blogger

Hi David,

What kind of features you are planning to go into lars-blogger development?

I am very interested in blog features for knowledge management within corporations. There is a yahoo group on this discussion here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/klogs/ (i think this group is not so active nowadays) and Bill Ives blog on Portals and KM has lot of reflections on it here http://billives.typepad.com/portals_and_km/

In the OpenACS community i know Dave Bauer and Michael Feldstein has a lot of tips on blog development. Nick Carrol have been work in dotFOLIO and Jeff Davis works in CoP software; both of them includes weblogger as important application.

Most of this developments are going on oacs-5-2 branch so i think you could see if your interests on developing lars-blogger could match in these projects.

Orzenil, are you the current lars-blogger maintainer? do you use irc/jabber? I'm mailto:lendir@jabber.org and davidam in openacs irc, we can speak more specific questions with it.

I intend do some contribution to openacs because I want learn to do my work usefull by the community. I chose lars-blogger because it solve real problems to me and is usefull by real people. The internationalizing is a easy method to contribute to openacs, but if this work is being done by other people, I can choose another task, perhaps I can work in do lars-blogger xhtml compliant, or another idea?.

I think that lars-blogger is very usefull in education, too. The project to integrate lars-blogger in dotlrn is interesting, but my priority today is learn to contribute to openacs/dotlrn with small tasks. Later, we can think in other questions.
