Forum OpenACS Development: Sun Micro. icons shipped with OpenACS without license

there are a bunch of icons in acs-subsite/resources that end on 16.gif and 24.gif that are takien from the sun micro. java swing icons those icons are then copied to various places in the tree (such as workflow and other various packages) and distributed as is the license for these icons requires that they be shipped with the copyright notice included with the icons. the copyright notice is not with the icons.

grep -r "Sun Micro" $your_oacs_root

you will see all of the sun icons and the lack of the license agreement that comes with them.

1) icons in various packages should be wiped and reference the ones shipped with acs-subsite.
2) the rest of the icons from this set should be included in acs-subsite, as some of them could be quite useful.
3) the license agreement file should be placed into the same directory as the icons

The Sun license does not allow modification, or use in any way disparaging to Sun.

It might be a good idea to use the icons from Gnome http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-icon-theme/
instead. Gnome includes a good set of mime type icons as well.
