Thank you for this post! I learned quite a bit. I think you are correct that XoTcl could improve code in OpenACS, I just worry about a transition, and if there is a committment to actually rewrite the code in a new style.
That said if we have a good technical proposal to adopt XoTcl I won't object to it. We just need good documentation for installation.
