Anybody still thinking about this issue?  I, too, would find it extremely useful as I'm trying to move a community out of an old mailing list+CGI site into a more integrated OpenACS environment.  But having (mailing list manager)+OACS4.5 right now isn't really an improvement in terms of integration.  I'm willing to be a part of whatever comes out of this discussion (as long as it doesn't start sucking away my time... :)
