I wonder if anyone has come across this problem.
I am running dotLRN 2.1.1 with the file storage package, ver 5.1.0a15, installed.

I have a Community group which has a number of sub groups. A user is placed as a member of a sub-group. They are a registered user. They log in and go into the subgroup and then go to the file storage area to download a file. They can see the folder listing in the file storage are, but when they click on the file to download they get the following message:
"You don't have permission to read file storage".

They get this for all the files in the folder. The files can be of many different formats (i.e PDF, docs, jpg etc..) Same problem. Any ideas?

I think in 2.1.1 FS still has the problem of not inheriting the permissions correctly.

Got it sorted, thanks!

The files in the file storage aread, were actually links to files in other communities. Obviously, the user needs to be a member of that community in order to access the files.
