Malte, I wholeheartedly agree. I don't know docbook, I have no time to learn it, and actually I also have no real interest in learning it.
The initial learning curve for OpenACS is very steep because it uses "unusual" technology. Making it easier to contribute is very, very necessary. We could start with making it easier to contribute to the documentation.
So please go ahead and make this a TIP.
