Forum OpenACS Q&A: netscape.com using AOLserver

My desktop system is a Mac, and I happened to notice today that the
default homepage in IE is http://home.netscape.com/apple.adp.  Hmm, I
never noticed before that that was an ADP!  So I went to netcraft.com.
Seems that sometime between April 1st and May 16th, netscape.com
switched from Netscape Enterprise Server to AOLserver 3.4.2.

This *has* to be good for our marketing efforts. :)

Andrei,    Sometime between the publication of the panda book and May 16th, www.netscape.com was using Netscape Enterprise Server. Janine is mentioning that Netscape has *switched back* to AOLServer.

There are more than 100 sites under .netscape.com domain.  Some are NES, some are AOLServer.  In particular, home and www are AOLServer.  But my and humor are stil NES.  It is quite possible that they are moving all onto AOLServer (which, probably, is a good thing as far as OpenACS is concerned), all I am saying is that it's also quite likely that some parts of Netscape universe were running AOLServer before.  (On a side note, netcraft also reports that some sites ran AOLServer, then switched back to NES, then to AOL again...)
