I have the situation that I have around 3000 communities on my site and I would usually have to add a user to all 3000 communities manually (this is the way we (ab)use .LRN).

Now what I'd like to do instead is add them on a "per need" basis, so whenever he first tries to access a URL within this community that he is automatically signed up to the community.

Alternatively a speed up of dotlrn::club_add would be acceptable as well :).

Hi Malte,

we created a feature that creates deep memberships. Thus when you have for example for levels and all groups are open groups a user becomes member directly. It stops when it reaches a closed or "on request" group. I the last case a membership is requested. You can send me an email if that solves your problem.

I'm not entirely sure I understand. Let's say I go to /dotlrn/club/malte and if I'm not a member I'm added to this community, this would be great.
