i assume, you got this message when inserting an image, not a link. Your fix appears correct, but insterestingly, this error does not pop up on the java script console of Firefox 1.0.7 of my mac os x box. Your fix will be included in the next release.
although i have not tested it with the most recent nightly version, at least earlier version of xinha worked with IE.
