Torben, we actually have this in place. One piece is called "package builder" and it is in CVS. Install it, say what objects (and attributes) the package deals with and off you should go (with cr_items, listbuilder lists and add/edit/display/delete forms).
The alternative is to use OAK http://www.weg.ee.usyd.edu.au/projects/oak/.
I asked Timo to take a look at OAK and enhance it with his current knowledge of package builder and best practises in OpenACS.
