Don, Have you made heavy use of those views in the pg version? When I ported them to work on postgresql, I had some doubts as to whether they would be reliable, since they depended on the dynamic creation of views. In addition, to handle the insert on the view, a rule is also being dynamically created. I spend quite a bit of time trying to break them, but in the end, I declared victory and moved on, but I still had some nagging doubts afterwards. It would be good to know that the pg version is reliable.
