It's the "return -code return" in ad_maybe_redirect_for_registration that's the problem in OACS 3.2.5, as indicated by Stan's workaround. Changing this to "return -code return 0" makes the error in the caller's set statement go away.
Hard to imagine a less descriptive error message, for sure. :)
