We use the same method as Gilbert and wondered why our AOLserver wont TERM (svc -t). It seems like there really are some busy processes which do not respond to the TERM signal, so using svc -k gets your server restarted very nicely (and svc -d works as well). Maybe we should stress this at the daemontools installation instructions on our site.
