What streaming server/clients are you using?
I there any open source stuff that we could use?

The question was started by Bob OConnor in a previous thread, but
since I am very keen in seen what other people is using, I wanted to
restate in a new thread....

We are looking at Darwin Streaming Server. Right, it's not GNU licensed, it goes with Apple's Public License which my contain some areas that are unclear for Commercial related projects ... I am no licensing expert so I have no idea what limitations this might create.

And I am curious for ideas on why integrate a "streaming server" to OpenACS ...

If you want to stream MP3's you can also use ICECAST (this is released under the GNU public license), we used it to stream live "audio broadcast" from the last WTO meeting in Qatar in conjunction with Indymedia... That was REALLY COOL!

Bruno,
Thanks for the info, i'll look into them
I want to deliver streaming media in a course that will eventually run in dotLRN. I have the files stored in Real producer format, but I am not sure if using a Real server... altough they are talking about going open source.

Apparently they're talking about going open source on the client, not server, side ...
