I know quite well OpenACS core and a fair number of packages and I'm ready to dig into the code to make them work, but bug-tracker has always been beyond my forces, perhaps due to its use of workflow and its excessive abstraction level.
In the past I used the old ticket module (OpenACS 3) wich I consider more flexible and functionally complete than bug-tracker, but never found the time of porting it to a newest release.
Regarding the package breakage in general I understand that it is disappointing and I agree that this should be clearly stated, even if I, as a developer, find them very useful anyway.
