When would you use openACS instead of .LRN and when would you use .LRN instead? I can see that .LRN includes functions openACS doesn't have such as teaching online. Does openACS have anything .LRN doesn't have? If not, should I just build on .LRN then?

.LRN forces a class/club model on your site. The underlying OpenACS toolkit's less constraining and more flexible.
