Hi there,

Google has a project called Open World Database
http://code.google.com/p/worlddb/
which is presented on english and spanish versions.

I'm looking for a portuguese translation of this project or other potuguese sources about cities, states, region and countries.

Does anyone have knowledge where I could find that?

Not sure this is exactly what you're looking for -
but a quick search revealed this project: https://github.com/geraldb/world.db

It has a few portuguese cities.

It also lists several alternative projects at the bottom of the project page.
