Maybe you could check your blog instance permissions because anybody can sent published entries to draft even as not logged user. As a test i sent the entry "The show must go" to draft and could re-publish it after. Is this behavior intentional?
Thnaks for your comments. It turned out my firefox browser was corrupt and messed up dsplay. The permisson settings were an oversight on my part. I had to create a public forum and started messing up the permissions. Hmm, to much coffee I guess 😉.
